Description
1992-93 Jim Thomson Los Angeles Kings Stanley Cup Finals Game Worn Jersey
Lot #62

This road black air-knit gamer by CCM was worn by Jim Thomson during the 1992-93 Stanley Cup Finals. The Washington Capitals selected Thomson in the 9th round of the 1984 NHL Entry Draft. This Edmonton native made his NHL debut in 1986-87 with Washington where he played for a couple of seasons before joining the Hartford Whalers. Thomson went on to play for the Devils, Kings, Senators and Mighty Ducks. All told this enforcer spent 7 seasons in the NHL and averaged about 4 PIMS per game.

Sewn to the right breast of this gamer is the 1993 Stanley Cup Finals patch. Sewn beneath is the NHL’s 100-year Stanley Cup anniversary patch. Light wear exists on this playoff set size 54 sweater as would be expected with Thomson having played in just a single game during the Cup Finals and worn during pre-game skate in others. We are unclear if Jim played his lone game during the Finals while in Los Angeles or Montreal. Sewn to the inside hem is the official Los Angeles Kings game worn jersey and set tagging. Peter Millar, the LA Kings equipment man has also added his initials to the patch.
