Lot #6
GAMEWORNAUCTIONS.NET is pleased to present this jersey from the personal collection of Gaetan Lefebvre. Mr. Lefebvre personally obtained this jersey while working for the Montreal Canadiens. He served in the role of Assistant Trainer, Assistant Athletic Therapist and eventually became the Canadiens longtime Head Therapist. Mr. Lefebvre was a member of the Canadiens for their 1986 and 1993 Stanley Cup Championships. Mr. Lefebvre was also a member of Team Canada during the 1981, 1984 and 1987 Canada Cups where he served as their Trainer.

This home white knit gamer by CCM was worn by Denis Savard during the 1992-93 Stanley Cup winning season. The Chicago Blackhawks selected Savard with the 3rd overall pick in the 1980 NHL Entry Draft. This Pointe Gatineau native made his NHL debut in 1980-81 with the Blackhawks at just 19 years of age. Savard carved out his legend with Chicago where he showcased his immense talent during 13 of his 17 NHL seasons. Denis spent his first 10 seasons in Chicago before playing for three years in Montreal where, in 1993, he won his only Stanley Cup. Savard next spent parts of two seasons with the expansion Tampa Bay Lightning before returning home to Chicago where he finished his career following two final seasons with the Blackhawks. Savard, who was known for his patented “spin-o-rama” move, scored 473 goals and added 865 assists for 1338 points to go along with 1336 PIMS in 1196 games played. His playoff acumen was no less impressive, lighting the lamp 66 times and adding 109 helpers for 175 playoff points to go along with 256 PIMS in 169 games played. Denis is the third highest scorer in Chicago Blackhawks history, trailing only Bobby Hull and Stan Mikita. Savard, a perennial top 10 NHL scorer, was named 2nd team NHL All Star in 1982-83 and played in 7 NHL All Star Games. He was elected to the NHL Hall of Fame with the class of 2000 in his first year of eligibility.

Proudly sewn to the left breast of this gamer is the alternate Captain’s “A”. Sewn to the right breast is the 1993 Stanley Cup Finals patch. Sewn beneath is the NHL’s 100-year Stanley Cup anniversary patch. The game wear on this size 48 sweater consists of stick and slash marks, board burns, plenty of board paint transfer from the Montreal Forum, a number of un-repaired burn holes and heavy inner pilling. On the inside crest is a beautiful blue sharpie signature in Savard’s own hand, images of the signing provided above. Savard wore this sweater during the Canadiens 1992-93 Stanley Cup Championship season, the last Cup of the Patrick Roy era in Montreal and Savard’s final season with Les Habitants. This spectacular multi-patched offering, complete with the coveted letter of honor was worn by this Hall of Famer during the 1993 Stanley Cup winning season, Denis Savard’s last with the Montreal Canadiens. This fresh to the hobby offering comes to you directly from the personal collection of former Montreal Canadiens and Team Canada member, Gaetan Lefebvre, choice! This jersey will be accompanied by a letter from Denis Savard.
