1991 Dmitri Filimonov CCCP Canada Cup Game Worn Jersey
Lot #713

This red knit gamer by CCM was worn by Dmitri Filimonov while representing the Soviet National Team during the 1991 Canada Cup. The Winnipeg Jets selected Filimonov in the 3rd round of the 1991 NHL Entry Draft. This Russian native spent a handful of seasons playing in Russia including 3 years for Moscow Dynamo prior to making his NHL debut with the Ottawa Senators in 1993-94. Filimonov’s NHL career spanned a mere 30 games. He spent another couple of years in North America playing in the AHL and IHL prior to returning to Europe. Following a season in SM-liiga, Filimonov played the remaining 8 years of his career in the Russian league.

Sewn to the right breast of this gamer is the Labatt Coupe Canada Cup patch. The game wear on this size 52 sweater consists of stick and slash marks, board burns and inner pilling. A nice example from the historic 1991 Canada Cup Series.
