1991 Damian Rhodes Team USA World Championships Game Worn Jersey
Lot #71

This white mesh gamer by Tackla was worn by Damian Rhodes during the 1991 IIHF World Championships in Finland. The Toronto Maple Leafs selected Rhodes in the 6th round of the 1987 NHL Entry Draft. After playing his college hockey at Michigan Tech, this St. Paul, MN native made his NHL debut in 1990-91 with the Maple Leafs. Damian played for parts of four years with the Leafs before going on to represent the Ottawa Senators for parts of four years and the Atlanta Thrashers for the final three seasons of his 10-year NHL career. On the international stage, Rhodes represented Team USA in several World Championships.

Sewn to the upper sleeves of this gamer are the sponsorship patches. This size XXL sweater shows obvious use with stick and puck marks and pilling most worthy of mention. Rhodes served as a backup to John Vanbiesbrouck who played in all 10 of Team USA’s games during the 1991 World Championships.
