1991-93 Pat Flatley New York Islanders Game Worn Jersey Photo Match
Lot #41
This white air-knit gamer by CCM was worn by Pat Flatley during the 1991-92 NHL season. Flatley also wore this sweater during the 1992-93 NHL preseason. The New York Islanders selected Flatley in the 1st round of the 1982 NHL Entry Draft. After playing his college hockey at the University of Wisconsin, Flatley made his NHL debut in 1983-84 with the Islanders. Later that spring, Pat made his only trip to the Stanley Cup Finals as the Islanders fell just shy in their “Drive For Five” consecutive Stanley Cups. During that season’s exciting playoff run, this rookie put up 9 goals and 15 points in the Islanders 21 playoff games. Flatley spent the first 13 years of a 14-year NHL career on Long Island before spending a final season with the cross-town rival New York Rangers prior to retiring in 1997. Flatley, the 5th Captain in franchise history, was enshrined into the Islanders Hall of Fame in 2012.

Proudly sewn to the left breast of this gamer is the Captain’s “C”. Sewn to the right breast is the NHL’s 100-year Stanley Cup anniversary patch. Removed from beneath was the NHL’s 75-year anniversary patch. Removed from the left shoulder was the Islanders 20-year anniversary patch. The game wear on this size 54 sweater is solid and consists of stick and slash marks, board burns, plenty of colorful board paint transfer, un-repaired burn holes and inner pilling. Shown above is a beautiful photo match of Flatley wearing this exact jersey during the 1991-92 NHL season. A beautiful well-worn example from this Islanders Hall of Famer’s first season as Team Captain and worn all the way into the following preseason.
