1991-92 Tony McKegney Team Canada Game Worn Jersey
Lot #73
This red air-knit gamer by CCM was worn by Tony McKegney while skating for the Canadian National Team during the 1991-92 season. The Buffalo Sabres selected McKegney in the 2nd round of the 1978 NHL Amateur Draft. He began his career with the Sabres in 1978-79 and spent 5 seasons roaming the wing at the Aud. He would go on to represent the Nordiques, North Stars, Rangers, Blues, Red Wings and Black Hawks before hanging up his skates. McKegney notched his career best 40 Goals in 1987-88 with the St. Louis Blues, surpassing the 37 Goal mark he had established in Buffalo. Over a 13-year NHL career that spanned 912 games, McKegney netted an impressive 320 goals and tallied 639 points.

Sewn to the lower verso are 3 sponsorship patches. The game wear on this size 54 sweater is solid and consists of stick and slash marks, board burns, board paint transfer, a series of un-repaired burn holes on the left shoulder and fine inner pilling. A nice offering for the international enthusiast or Team Canada collector.
