1991-92 Tom Kurvers New York Islanders Game Worn Jersey 20-year Anniversary - Photo Match
Lot #89

This blue air-knit gamer by CCM was worn by Tom Kurvers during the 1991-92 NHL season. The Montreal Canadiens selected Kurvers in the 7th round of the 1981 NHL Entry Draft. This Minneapolis, MN native played his decorated college career at the University of Minnesota-Duluth before making his NHL debut in 1984-85 with the Montreal Canadiens. Kurvers spent a couple of years with the Canadiens and won the Stanley Cup in 1986 before moving on to play for the Buffalo Sabres, New Jersey Devils, Toronto Maple Leafs, Vancouver Canucks, New York Islanders and the Anaheim Mighty Ducks. Following an 11-year NHL career, Kurvers retired with an impressive 421 points in 659 games played from the point.

Sewn to the left shoulder of this gamer is the New York Islanders 20-year anniversary patch. Sewn to the right breast is the NHL’s 75-year anniversary patch. The game wear on this size 54 sweater consists of stick and slash marks, board burns, board paint transfer, un-repaired burn holes, material pulls and inner pilling. Shown above is a beautiful photo match of Kurvers wearing this exact jersey during the 1991-92 NHL season. A beautiful multi-patched photo matched example from this former 11-year NHL veteran.
