This road blue knit gamer by CCM was worn by Steven Rice during the 1991-92 AHL season. The New York Rangers selected Rice in the 1st round of the 1989 NHL Entry Draft. This Kitchener native made his NHL debut in 1990-91 with the Rangers where he played for one season. Rice went on to represent the Edmonton Oilers, Hartford Whalers and Carolina Hurricanes over the course of his 8-year NHL career.
The game wear on this size 50 sweater is solid and consists of stick and slash marks, board burns, board paint transfer, un-repaired burn holes and fine inner pilling. Removed from the right breast is the 25-year PHPA patch. Removed from the upper verso and lost to history is the player nameplate. Rice played in 45 games for Cape Breton during the 1991-92 campaign. He lit the lamp 32 times and added 20 assists for 52 points. A nice example from the early part of this NHL veteran’s career.
