1991-92 Moe Mantha Philadelphia Flyers Game Worn Jersey - "Philadelphia Flyers 25-year Anniversary"
Lot #115

This road orange air-knit gamer by CCM was worn by Moe Mantha during the 1991-92 NHL season. The Winnipeg Jets selected Matha in the 2nd round of the 1980 NHL Entry Draft. This Lakewood Ohio native played for the US National Team and also represnted Team USA in the Olympics. He spent the first 4 years of his career in Winnipeg and then joined the Pittsburgh Penguins in 1984-85. He remained with Mario and company for parts of 4 seasons before being dealt to the Edmonton Oilers during the 1987-88 season. After only 25 games with Edmonton, Mantha was dealt to the Minnesota North Stars where he played for parts of two seasons. The Philadelphia Flyers acquired Mantha from the North Stars in 1988-89. Moe then spent the next two-plus years with the Winnipeg Jets before finishing his career with a 5-game stint in 1991-92 back with the Flyers.
Offered here is Mantha’s last game worn jersey, worn during road games in the final 5-games of his 12-year NHL career. Sewn to the left shoulder, atop of where the 1992 NHL All Star game patch used to lay, is the Philadelphia Flyers 25-year anniversary patch. Sewn to the right shoulder is the NHL’s 75-year anniversary patch. The game wear on this sweater consists of stick and slash marks, board burns, board paint transfer, inner pilling and a team-sewn repair. Worthy of mention is something rarely seen, a Flyers nameplate with the name screened on, something likely done out of haste to get Mantha on to the ice after his mid-season acquisition. A nice 75/25, 2-patched example that also represents the final jersey from this players dozen year long career.
