1991-92 Michel Goulet Chicago Blackhawks Clarence Campbell Bowl Championship Trophy The Michel Goulet Collection Michel Goulet Letter
Lot #198
GAMEWORNAUCTIONS.NET is pleased to present The Michel Goulet Collection. This exciting collection of game worn jerseys, game used sticks, game worn equipment and memorabilia come directly from the personal collection of Hockey Hall of Famer, Michel Goulet. Mr. Goulet personally collected and preserved these items over the course of his legendary NHL career. A signed letter from Mr. Goulet will accompany your purchase.

This beautiful and all-original Chicago Blackhawks Clarence Campbell Bowl trophy was given to Hall of Famer Michel Goulet following the Blackhawks Campbell Bowl victory in 1991-92. The Quebec Nordiques selected Goulet in the 1st round of the 1979 NHL Entry Draft. This Quebec native made his professional debut in 1978-79 with the WHA’s Birmingham Bulls. When NHL expansion ensued the following year, Goulet made his NHL debut in 1979-80 with the Quebec Nordiques.

Goulet was among the finest Left Wingers of his generation, and in NHL history for that matter. He netted a spectacular 548 goals and 1152 points during a 15-year NHL career. Michel’s goal totals from the period of 1981-82 thru 1987-88 is an impressive read; 42, 57, 56, 55, 53, 49 and 48 respectively. He was a five-time 1st or 2nd Team NHL All Star who also played in five NHL All Star Games. Goulet represented Team Canada during the World Championships, the 1984 and 1987 Canada Cup and also represented Team NHL during Rendezvous ’87. Following 11 seasons with the Nordiques, Goulet joined the Chicago Blackhawks and soon after led them on an epic run to the 1992 Stanley Cup Finals. Merely two seasons later, Michel suffered a vicious head injury during the latter stages of the 1993-94 season, putting a sudden end to his Hall of Fame career.

The trophy measures 11 inches high. The top is made of plated silver and the base is wood. The inscription on one side reads "Clarence Campbell Bowl 1968", which was the year that the trophy was introduced, and the other side reads "Michel Goulet Chicago Blackhawks 1991-92". The Clarence Campbell Bowl Trophy is awarded by the NHL to the players and staff of the Western Conference playoff champions.

The Blackhawks started off the 1991-92 playoffs with 4-2 series win against the St. Louis Blues. They then went on to win 8 straight games, beating both the Red Wings and Oilers 4-0. Unfortunately for the Hawks, they ran into a buzzsaw that was the Mario Lemieux lead Pittsburgh Penguins, falling short of their quest for Lord Stanley’s Cup.

The bowl shows virtually no tarnishing and is in beautiful condition. This fresh to the hobby example comes directly from the personal collection of Michel Goulet and will be accompanied by his signed LOA.
