This home white knit gamer by CCM was worn by Martin Rucinsky during the 1991-92 AHL season. The Edmonton Oilers selected Rucinsky in the 1st round of the 1991 NHL Entry Draft. After appearing in 2 games for the Oilers, Rucinsky joined the Quebec Nordiques and spent the next 5 seasons with the franchise, including part of the team’s inaugural season in Colorado. Rucinsky went on to a 16-year NHL career before returning home to the Czech Republic where he has skated for the past handful of seasons. After leaving the Avalanche, Martin spent 7 seasons with Montreal before ending his career with stints in Dallas, New York, Vancouver and St. Louis.
Sewn to the right breast of this gamer is the PHPA 25-year anniversary patch. The game wear on this sweater is solid and consists of stick and slash marks, board burns, board paint transfer, un-repaired burn holes, wahed out bloodstains and inner pilling. Also worthy of mention is evidence of a plate change on the reverse. A nice pre-rookie offering from this veteran NHL winger.
