1991-92 Kevin McClelland Toronto Maple Leafs Game Worn Jersey Turn Back The Clock Photo Match
Lot #35

This blue knit Turn Back The Clock alternate was worn by Kevin McClelland during the 1991-92 NHL season. The Hartford Whalers selected McClelland in the 4th round of the 1980 NHL Entry Draft. This Oshawa native made his NHL debut in 1981-82 with Pittsburgh where he skated for three seasons before a deal during the 1983-84 campaign sent him to the Edmonton Oilers. This enforcer spent 7 years in Edmonton and won 4 Stanley Cups in the process. Kevin suited up for the Red Wings, Maple Leafs and Jets before retiring. McClelland was known as one of the NHL’s toughest customers. He was brought to Edmonton in large part to help wage war against their Alberta rivals, the Calgary Flames. In 588 career games, over 12 NHL seasons, McClelland accumulated 1672 PIMS! In 98 playoff games he amassed another 281 PIMS! His single season best total came in 1987-88 when Kevin recorded 281 PIMS with Edmonton.

Sewn to the right breast of this gamer is the NHL’s 75-year anniversary patch. The game wear on this striking Turn Back The Clock alternate consists of stick and slash marks, board burns, sweat stains at the sleeve cuffs, a stretched fight strap and inner pilling. Shown above is a beautiful photo match of McClelland wearing this exact jersey during the 1991-92 season. Maple Leafs Turn Back The Clock gamers have always been a tough get for hobbyists as most of these one of a kind sweaters were given directly to the players after the season. A nice photo matched example from this longtime enforcer and four-time Stanley Cup Champion.
