Description
1991-92 Keith Carney Buffalo Sabres Game Worn Jersey – Rookie
Lot #84

This blue knit gamer by CCM was worn by Keith Carney during the 1991-92 NHL season. The Buffalo Sabres selected Carney in the 4th round of the 1988 NHL Entry Draft. After playing his college hockey at the University of Maine, this Providence RI native made his NHL debut in 1991-92 with the Sabres. Carney spent parts of three seasons with Buffalo before going on to represent the Chicago Blackhawks, Phoenix Coyotes, Anaheim Mighty Ducks, Vancouver Canucks and Minnesota Wild. All told Carney spent 16 seasons clearing creases and roaming the NHL blue lines. On the international stage, Carney spent the 1991-92 season with the US National Team before turning pro and also represented Team USA in the 1998 Olympics.

Sewn to the right breast of this gamer is the NHL’s 75-year anniversary patch. The game wear on this size 54 sweater consists of stick and slash marks, board burns, un-repaired burn holes and fine inner pilling. Removed from the upper verso and lost to history is the Carney nameplate. A well-worn offering from this US Olympian’s rookie NHL season.
