Description
1991-92 Geoff Smith Edmonton Oilers Game Worn Jersey – Team Letter
Lot #66
This blue air-knit gamer by CCM was worn by Geoff Smith during the 1991-92 NHL season. The Edmonton Oilers selected Smith in the 3rd round of the 1987 NHL Entry Draft. After playing two seasons of college hockey for the Fighting Sioux at the University of North Dakota, this Edmonton native made his NHL debut in 1989-90 with the Oilers and celebrated the last Cup of their dynasty later that spring. Geoff spent parts of five seasons with the Oilers before joining the Florida Panthers where he played for parts of four years before completing his 10-year NHL career with the New York Rangers.

Sewn to the right breast of this gamer is the NHL’s 75-year anniversary patch. The game wear on this size 54 sweater consists of stick and slash marks, board burns, a front collar that has begun to tear, inner pilling and some heavy team-sewn repair work at the right hip. This anniversary patched example originates from The Peter Pocklington Collection and will be accompanied by an Oilers team letter.
