Description
1991-92 Geoff Sanderson Hartford Whalers Game Worn Jersey – Rookie
Lot #61
This white knit gamer by CCM was worn by Geoff Sanderson during the 1991-92 NHL season, his rookie year. The Hartford Whalers selected Sanderson in the 2nd round of the 1990 NHL Entry Draft. After playing just a handful of games in 1990-91, Sanderson began his full time NHL journey in 1991-92. In just his 2nd season, this highly touted winger netted 46 goals and 89 points for the Whalers. He followed it up with a 41-goal season en route to 355 career goals and an even 700 NHL points. Geoff remained with Hartford for 7 seasons, eventually transferring with the club to Carolina. He would also go on to represent Vancouver, Buffalo, Columbus, Phoenix, Philadelphia and Edmonton in what would be an 1104 game NHL career that saw him play in a couple of NHL All Star Games.

Sewn to the right breast of this gamer is the NHL’s 75-year anniversary patch. The game wear on this size 52 sweater consists of stick and slash marks, pulls and fine inner pilling. Penned in black sharpie on the collar tag is Geoff’s number 13, incidentally this is a number that Sanderson only wore as an NHL rookie! A nice vintage offering from this defunct franchise and donned by this two-time 40-goal scorer and two-time NHL All Star during his rookie NHL season.
