1991-92 Darius Kasparaitis Moscow Dynamo Game Worn Jersey
Lot #467
This white mesh gamer was worn by Darius Kasparaitis during the 1991-92 season. The New York Islanders selected Kasparaitis with the 5th overall pick in the 1992 NHL Entry Draft. Darius began his career on Long Island in 1992-93 where he and the Islanders made a strong playoff push, during which time they defeated the 2-time defending Stanley Cup champion Pittsburgh Penguins en route to the Semi Finals. Darius quickly became a fan favorite, possessing a nasty edge to his game and getting known as one of the league’s most gifted agitators. In 863 NHL games, he amassed 1379 well earned PIMS. Following his time on the Island, he served with the Penguins for 6 seasons, and then with the Avalanche and finally the Rangers for 4 years. He represented Russia in the 1996 World Cup of Hockey and the Olympic games.

The game wear on this sweater is solid and consists of stick and slash marks, board burns, board paint transfer, inner pilling and a team-sewn repair. A beautiful signature in Kasparaitis’ own hand can be found on the nameplate of this gamer. A tremendous pre-rookie offering worn by this legendary agitator during his last year in Russia, prior to the start of his NHL career.
