1991-92 Brad McCrimmon Detroit Red Wings Game Worn Jersey
Lot #36
This white air-knit gamer by CCM and Eastside was worn by Brad McCrimmon during the 1991-92 NHL season. The Boston Bruins selected McCrimmon in the 1st round of the 1979 NHL Entry Draft. This Plenty, SASK native made his NHL debut in 1979-80 with the Bruins where he played for three seasons before joining the Philadelphia Flyers. Brad spent five seasons with Philadelphia, trekking to a pair of Stanley Cup Finals along the way before joining the Calgary Flames. It was with Calgary, during his three-year stint, that McCrimmon won his only Stanley Cup. Brad wrapped up his 18-year NHL career with stays in Detroit, Hartford and Phoenix. McCrimmon was named 2nd Team NHL All Star in 1988, won the Plus/Minus Award and played in the NHL All Star game that same season.

After retiring, McCrimmon vigorously pursued a career in coaching. He served behind the bench for 14 seasons representing the Islanders, Saskatoon Blades, Flames, Thrashers and Red Wings. Brad had just taken over as Head Coach of Yaroslavl Lokomotiv in the KHL when he tragically lost his life on September 7, 2011 in a plane crash that killed 43 people including all of Yaroslavl Lokomotiv’s players and coaching staff.

Sewn to the right breast of this gamer is the NHL’s 75-year anniversary patch. The game wear on this size 52 sweater consists of stick and slash marks, board burns and inner pilling. McCrimmon tallied 7 goals, 29 points and 118 PIMS during the 1991-92 season. A nice patched example worn by this beloved player and coach.
