1991-92 Bobby Smith Minnesota North Stars Game Worn Jersey – “25-year Anniversary” - 1000th Point & 1000th Game Season
Lot #18

This white knit gamer by CCM was worn by Bobby Smith during the 1991-92 NHL season. The Minnesota North Stars selected Smith with the 1st overall pick in the 1978 NHL Amateur Draft. Smith began his NHL career in 1978-79 with the North Stars and played for the franchise for parts of 9 seasons that encompassed the beginning and end of his illustrious career. In between, Bobby spent parts of 7 seasons with the Montreal Canadiens where he won the only Stanley Cup of his career in 1986. Bobby would appear in the Stanley Cup Finals on four separate occasions, twice each with Minnesota and Montreal. Smith was a four-time NHL All Star who also captured the Calder Trophy as the NHL’s Rookie of the Year in 1979. In 1077 games played, Bobby tallied 357 goals and 1036 points. Bobby also had the good fortune to partake in 184 playoff games during which time he racked up a most impressive 160 points.

Proudly sewn to the left breast of this gamer is the Velcro alternate Captain’s “A”. Sewn to the left shoulder is the Minnesota North Stars 25-year anniversary patch. Sewn to the right breast is the NHL’s 75-year anniversary patch. The game wear on this 2nd set size 54 sweater is solid and consists of stick and slash marks, board burns, board paint transfer, un-repaired burn holes, washed out bloodstains, material pulls, stitch pops, heavy inner pilling and several team-sewn repairs. Sewn to the inside hem is the official Minnesota North Stars game worn jersey and set tagging. Bobby became the 32nd player in NHL history to reach the 1000-point mark and also played in his 1000th NHL game, both occurring during the 1991-92 season. The 1991-92 season also saw Smith amass a career best 109 PIMS. A fantastic well-worn double patched offering from the latter part of this four-time NHL All Star’s career.
