Description
1991-92 Adam Oates Boston Bruins Game Worn Jersey - Photo Match
Lot #34

This black air-knit gamer by CCM was worn by Adam Oates during the 1991-92 NHL season. This playmaking Hall of Famer made a name for himself setting up some of the great snipers of the modern era. After beginning his career with Steve Yzerman’s Red Wings, Oates would team up with Brett Hull in St. Louis, Cam Neely in Boston and Peter Bondra in Washington. Oates went on to wrap up his career with stints in Philadelphia, Anaheim where he went to the Cup Finals for the 2nd time and lastly Edmonton before retiring in 2004. His playmaking abilities led him to the rank of 7th in career NHL assists with only Gretzky, Francis, Bourque, Messier, Coffey and Jagr ahead of him. Through his lengthy career, Adam accumulated nearly 1100 assists and better than 1400 career points which ranks him 17th all-time. Adam was a 2nd Team NHL All Star at Center and played in 5 NHL All Star games. Oates was elected to the Hockey Hall of Fame as part of the class of 2012.

Sewn to the right breast of this gamer is the NHL’s 75-year anniversary patch. The game wear on this 2nd set size 52 sweater is solid and consists of stick and slash marks, board burns, plenty of familiar board paint transfer, inner pilling and a couple dozen team-sewn repairs! Shown above is a beautiful photo match of Oates wearing this exact jersey during the 1991-92 season. On the inside hem is the official Boston Bruins game worn jersey and set stamp. On February 7, 1992 the Blues dealt Oates to the Bruins in exchange for Craig Janney. Adam rattled off 30 points in 26 regular season games and added another 19 points in 15 playoff games later that spring. A tremendous well-worn patched and photo matched offering from this Hall of Famer’s arrival in Boston!
