This home white knit gamer by CCM was worn by Kevin Maguire during the 1990-91 NHL season. Maguire’s career spanned parts of 6 NHL seasons where he spent the majority of that time running roughshot over his opposition. In a 260 career games Kevin amassed 782 PIMS. Most of Kevin's NHL career was spent between the Leafs and Sabres.
Sewn to the right breast of this gamer is the coveted Harold Ballard Memorial patch. The sleeves of this gamer have been custom shortened to allow Maguire better access to throw those haymakers he was noted for. Despite being heavily washed by the Leafs during the season, visible game wear still exists in the form of stick marks, board burns, board paint transfer, un-repaired burn holes and fine inner pilling.
During the 1990-91 season Maguire partook in 63 games scoring 9 times and serving 180 PIMS! These sweaters were used again in the following pre-season and the Ballard patches were removed by the club. Following the 1991 pre-season, the Leafs resewed the patches back on to the jerseys and made them available to the marketplace. Ballard patched examples aren’t frequently offered up for sale. Here is a wonderful patched example of an iconic pugilist.
