Description
1990-91 Jim Johnson Minnesota North Stars Game Worn Jersey - Photo Match
Lot #59

This road green air-knit gamer by CCM was worn by Jim Johnson during the 1990-91 NHL season. After playing his college hockey at the University of Minnesota-Duluth, this New Hope, MN native made his NHL debut in 1985-86 with the Pittsburgh Penguins. After parts of 6 seasons with the Penguins, Johnson was dealt to the Minnesota North Stars along with Chris Dahlquist in exchange for Larry Murphy and Peter Taglianetti. Johnson spent parts of four years with the franchise and squared off against his old team in the 1991 Stanley Cup Finals. Johnson finished up his career with stops in Washington and Phoenix. All told this rearguard played in 829 games, accumulating 1197 PIMS over the course of 13 NHL seasons.

The game wear on this 2nd set size 54 sweater consists of stick and slash marks, board burns, board paint transfer, un-repaired burn holes and inner pilling. Shown above is a beautiful photo match of Johnson wearing this exact jersey during the 1990-91 season. A beautiful black sharpie signature can be found on the fight strap in Johnson’s own hand. Jim would have worn this sweater after his arrival from the Penguins during the 1990-91 campaign, en route to the 1991 Stanley Cup Finals. A nice photo matched offering from a magical season for the North Stars.
