Description
1990-91 Brent Sutter New York Islanders Game Worn Jersey - Photo Match
Lot #36

This road blue air-knit gamer by CCM was worn by Brent Sutter during the 1990-91 NHL season. The New York Islanders selected Sutter in the 1st round of the 1980 NHL Entry Draft. Sutter made his NHL debut with the Islanders in 1980-81 and played for the Islanders during all but their first Championship season. He earned a pair of Stanley Cup Rings with the Islanders as his youth and feistiness played a key role in the Islanders 3rd and 4th Stanley Cups. Brent assumed the role of Islanders Team Captain when Denis Potvin retired. After spending 11 seasons on Long Island, Sutter joined the Chicago Blackhawks where he completed his career 7 years later. This talented and feisty center played in 1111 NHL games, scoring 363 goals and 829 points while adding 1054 PIMS. This 40-Goal man was an NHL All Star who also represented Team Canada in the 1984, 1987 and 1991 Canada Cups!

Proudly sewn to the left breast of this gamer is the Captain’s “C”. The game wear on this size 52 sweater is solid and consists of numerous stick and slash marks, heavy butt tape residue, board burns, board paint transfer, material pulls and inner pilling. Shown above is a beautiful photo match of Sutter wearing this exact jersey during the 1990-91 season. A well-worn photo matched offering that sports the coveted letter of honor.
