1990-91 Brad Tiley Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds Game Worn Jersey – “1991 Memorial Cup”
Lot #227

This red knit gamer by CCM was worn by Brad Tiley during the 1990-91 OHL season. The Boston Bruins selected Tiley in the 4th round of the 1991 NHL Entry Draft. After completing three seasons of juniors with the Soo, Tiley went on to enjoy a 17-year professional career that began in 1991-92 with the AHL’s Maine Mariners and ended in Europe in 2008. During that time, Tiley played in the NHL over the course of three seasons for the Phoenix Coyotes and the Philadelphia Flyers. Brad spent all 15 of his minor league seasons in either the IHL or AHL.

Proudly sewn to the left breast of this gamer is the alternate Captain’s “A”. Sewn to the right breast is the 1991 Memorial Cup patch. The game wear on this size 52 sweater consists of stick and slash marks, board burns, board paint transfer, a well-salted fight strap and fine inner pilling. Tiley’s junior career came to an end in style as the Soo went on to win the J. Ross Robertson Cup. After sweeping their first two opponents, the Greyhounds squared off against the Oshawa Generals and their former superstar teammate Eric Lindros in the Final round. After winning the dramatic series on home ice in Game 6, the Soo went onto represent the OHL in the Memorial Cup in Quebec City. A terrific Memorial Cup patched example, complete with letter of honor and worn by this former NHL defenseman.
