Description
1990-91 Alexei Zhamnov CCCP Soviet National Team Game Worn Jersey
Lot #64
This red mesh gamer by Tackla was worn by Alexei Zhamnov circa 1990 or 1991. The Winnipeg Jets selected Zhamnov in the 4th round of the 1990 NHL Entry Draft. After spending a handful of seasons in his native Russia, Zhamnov entered the NHL in 1992-93 with the Winnipeg Jets. He remained with the franchise for 4 seasons before joining the Chicago Blackhawks for an 8-year run that was followed by brief stints in Philadelphia and Boston. This talented center iceman was a 30-goal scorer who played in 807 games and registered 719 career points. He was an NHL All Star who earned 2nd Team NHL All Star honors in 1994-95. On the international scene, Zhamnov was a staple in the Russian lineup and played in the 1991 Canada Cup, the Super Series, World Championships, the 1996 World Cup of Hockey and 3 Olympics.

The game wear on this sweater is solid and consists of stick and slash marks, board burns, colorful board paint transfer and inner pilling. A terrific well-worn pre-rookie offering donned by this former NHL All Star while skating for the Soviet National Team.
