Description
1990-91 Adam Foote Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds Game Worn Jersey
Lot #397
This road red knit gamer by CCM was worn by Adam Foote during the 1990-91 OHL season. The Quebec Nordiques selected Foote in the 2nd round of the 1989 NHL Entry Draft. Foote enjoyed 19 seasons in the NHL, spending the majority of his distinguished career manning the Quebec/Colorado blueline. He broke in with Quebec in 1991-92 and moved with the franchise to Colorado, where he remained until joining Columbus in 2005-06. In February of 2008, Foote was dealt back to Colorado and completed his stellar career with the Avs during the 2010-11 season. During his career, Adam represented Team Canada in 2 World Cups and 3 Olympic games, winning a Gold Medal in 2002. This feisty rearguard racked up better than 1500 regular season PIMS over the course of his 1154 game career. Adam won 2 Stanley Cups with the Avalanche as he provided untold leadership and stellar defense from their blueline and eventually assumed the role of Team Captain following Joe Sakic’s retirement.

The game wear on this size 52 sweater is solid and consists of stick and slash marks, board burns, board paint transfer and inner pilling. Fight abuse exists in the form of stitch popping at the front collar, tearing of the material at both shoulder seems as well as the rear collar with subsequent stabilization by the team, and finally some washed out bloodstains. After Adam’s departure, the Greyhounds recycled this sweater to the 1991-92 pre-season and added a nameplate that covered the back stars which has since been removed. On the front crest lies a beautiful black sharpie signature in Foote’s own hand. A terrific pre-rookie offering from one of the Quebec/Colorado franchise’s all-time greats.
