This road red knit gamer by CCM was worn by Adam Foote during the 1990-91 OHL season. Foote, a 19-year NHL veteran, has served the majority of his distinguished career manning the Quebec/Colorado blueline. He broke in with Quebec in 1991-92 and moved with the franchise to Colorado where he remained until joining Columbus in 2005-06. In February of 2008, Foote was dealt back to Colorado and recently signed a 1-year deal with the Avs for the 2010-11 season where he will presumably finish his career. Adam has represented Team Canada in 2 World Cups and 3 Olympic Games, winning a Gold Medal in 2002. He also won 2 Stanley Cups with the Avalanche.
Worn during Foote’s final year of junior hockey, this sweater shows game use that includes stick marks, board burns, board paint transfer and inner pilling. Fight abuse exists in the form of stitch popping at the front collar, tearing of the material at both shoulder seems as well as the rear collar with subsequent stabilization by the team, and finally some washed out bloodstains. After Adam’s departure, the Greyhounds recycled this sweater to the 1991-92 pre-season and added a nameplate that covered the back stars which has since been removed. On the front crest lies a black sharpie signature in Foote’s own hand.
