1989-91 Perry Anderson Utica Devils Game Worn Jersey
Lot #982

This road red knit gamer by CCM was worn by Perry Anderson during the 1989-90 aand or 1990-91 AHL season. The St. Louis Blues selected Anderson in the 6th round of the 1980 NHL Entry Draft. He made his NHL debut with St. Louis in 1981-82 and spent 4 years with the Blues before joining the New Jersey Devils in 1985-86. Perry played in New Jersey for 5 years before spending one final season with the San Jose Sharks. Anderson was a tough guy that loved to mix things up. In 400 NHL games he compiled 1051 PIMS with a single season best of 222 PIMS coming with the Devils in 1987-88. Unbelievably, in just 36 playoff games, Perry rang up 161 PIMS, accumulating most of them with New Jersey in 1987-88 when he tabbed 113 PIMS in 10 playoff games!

The game wear on this sweater is tremendous and consists of stick and slash marks, board burns, board paint transfer, un-repaired burn holes, plenty of trauma, heavy inner pilling and about a dozen and a half team-sewn repairs including some major sew jobs to close up some gaping wounds. The right wrist has been sliced open while the left was also opened up then subsequently repaired. The fight strap is completely and crudely customized and shows heavy wear and salt deposits. A battered minor league offering of this beloved fan favorite.
