GAMEWORNAUCTIONS.NET is pleased to bring this exciting collection of game worn enforcers, tough guys and instigators to the hobby exclusively thru our Spring 2019 Auction. These 10 NHL, WHA and minor league game worn jerseys have been held in a private collection since being purchased beginning nearly 20 years ago and have been out of hobby circulation ever since. Included in this group of legendary tough guys are some extremely difficult to find players and styles, most which are being offered at auction for the first time!

This home white knit gamer by CCM was worn by Wayne Van Dorp during the 1989-90 NHL season. This Burnaby, BC native was an enforcer that made his NHL debut with the Edmonton Oilers in 1986-87 and won a Stanley Cup that spring as a rookie. He also suited up for the Pittsburgh Penguins, the Chicago Blackhawks and the Quebec Nordiques over the course of his 6-year NHL career, accumulating 565 PIMS in 125 games played! Van Dorp registered a single season best of 303 PIMS in 61 games played for the Chicago Blackhawks in 1989-90, placing 5th on the NHL leader board in just a partial season! Van Dorp also put together an impressive minor league resume, playing mainly in the AHL with Rochester, Nova Scotia and Halifax but also spending time in the IHL with Saginaw and Milwaukee and in the ACHL at the beginning of his career with the Erie Golden Blades. In 195 minor league games played, this enforcer amassed 912 PIMS!

The game wear on this sweater is solid and consists of stick and slash marks, board burns, board paint transfer, material pulls, heavy fight abuse with major blood staining, a stretched and stitch popped collar, overall trauma, heavy inner pilling and 7 team-sewn repairs. Shown above are a couple of beautiful photo matches of Van Dorp wearing this exact jersey during the Bob Probert fight in the 1989-90 season. Also shown above are screen captures and video footage of Van Dorp bleeding profusely during the infamous bench clearing brawl between the Blackhawks and the North Stars during the 1989-90 season. Van Dorp amassed 303 PIMS, finishing 5th league wide despite playing in just 61 games while wearing this fight abused jersey in front of the hometown fans in Chicago!
