Description
1989-90 Tim Hunter Flames Game Worn Jersey - "10-year Anniversary"
Lot #174

This home white air-knit gamer by CCM was worn by Tim Hunter during the 1989-90 NHL season. Hunter began his career with Calgary in the early years playing a couple of games in 1981-82. He would spend his first 11 years with the club before bolting for Quebec in 1992. After a partial season with the Nords, Hunter was dealt back west to the Canucks where he played for 4 years before spending one final season with San Jose. In a 16-year career, Tim dressed for 815 games and racked up an astounding 3146 PIMS! This total is good for 8th on the all-time list. Hunter twice led the NHL in PIMS, racking up 361 in 1987 and 375 in 1989. Sandwiched between was a 337 PIM outburst in 1988. Tim was a fixture in the Battle of Alberta which raged between the Oilers and Flames throughout much of the 1980’s. Hunter played in 3 Stanley Cup Finals, winning his only Stanley Cup in 1989 with Calgary.

Proudly sewn to the left breast of this gamer is the alternate Captain’s “A”. Sewn to the left shoulder is the Calgary Flames 10-year anniversary patch. Fight straps are sewn into both the front and back of this gamer! Fight abuse is readily evident by looking at the collar which has been tugged apart and sewn back v-style. You also can’t miss the droplets of blood stains which dote the top portion of the front of this sweater. Game wear consists of stick marks, board burns, board paint transfer and inner pilling. On the back player number in black sharpie is a personalized signature in Tim’s own hand. Yet another fine offering for the heavyweight collectors.
