Description
1989-90 Sylvain Turgeon New Jersey Devils Game Worn Jersey Photo Match
Lot #41
This home white knit gamer by CCM was worn by Sylvain Turgeon during the 1989-90 NHL season. The Hartford Whalers selected Turgeon with the 2nd overall pick in the 1983 NHL Entry Draft. This Quebec native made his NHL debut in 1983-84 with the Whalers where he played for 6 seasons. Turgeon went on to represent the New Jersey Devils, Montreal Canadiens and the Ottawa Senators over his 12-year NHL career. Turgeon was twice a 40-goal scorer who earned a spot in the 1986 NHL All Star Game.

The game wear on this sweater is tremendous and consists of stick and slash marks, board burns, board paint transfer, washed out bloodstains, fine inner pilling and team-sewn repair work. Shown above is a beautiful photo match of Turgeon wearing this exact jersey during the 1989-90 season. In Turgeon’s only year with the Devils he struck for 30 goals while wearing this jersey on home ice. A terrific hammered photo matched example worn by this gifted goal scorer during his only year with the New Jersey Devils.
