Description
1989-90 Steve Dykstra Hartford Whalers Game Worn Jersey
Lot #38
This home white air-knit gamer by CCM was worn by Steve Dykstra during the 1989-90 NHL season. This Edmonton native made his NHL debut in 1985-86 with the Buffalo Sabres. This enforcer played for the Sabres for parts of three seasons before joining the Edmonton Oilers during the 1987-88 season. Dykstra appeared in 15 games with the Oilers during the 2nd half of the year and then watched as Gretzky and the gang went on to win their 4th Stanley Cup later that spring. Dykstra then spent the 1988-89 season with the Pittsburgh Penguins before wrapping up his NHL career in 1989-90 with the Hartford Whalers. Dykstra’s single season career best NHL PIMS total came in 1986-87 when he amassed 179 PIMS in just 37 games.

The game wear on this size 52 sweater consists of stick and slash marks, board burns, washed out bloodstains and inner pilling. This tough guy wrapped up his NHL career while wearing this sweater during a 9-game stint in 1989-90 with the Hartford Whalers.
