Description
1989-90 Marc Bergevin New York Islanders Game Worn Jersey The Terrence Murphy Collection Joe Murphy Letter
Lot #85

This fresh to the hobby example comes directly from the personal collection of longtime New York Islanders employee Terrence Murphy. Terry worked for the New York Islanders from 1983 through 1992, beginning as their stick boy until being promoted to Assistant Equipment Manager in 1988. A letter of provenance signed by Mr. Murphy’s son will accompany your purchase. These exciting items are being offered to the hobby for the first time via the Fall 2020 Auction, exclusively at GAMEWORNAUCTIONS.NET.

This home white air-knit gamer by CCM was worn by Marc Bergevin during the 1989-90 NHL season. The Chicago Blackhawks selected Bergevin in the 3rd round of the 1983 NHL Entry Draft. This Montreal born defenseman made his NHL debut with the Blackhawks in 1984-85 and played for the team that drafted him for parts of five seasons before joining the New York Islanders where he played for a couple of years. Bergevin later went on to represent the Hartford Whalers, Tampa Bay Lightning, Detroit Red Wings, St. Louis Blues, Pittsburgh Penguins and Vancouver Canucks. All told this rearguard played in 1191 games over the course of 20 NHL seasons.

The game wear on this 3rd set size 54 goalie cut sweater consists of stick and slash marks, board burns, board paint transfer from the Nassau Coliseum, un-repaired burn holes, fight abuse with a partially torn and un-repaired rear collar and inner pilling. A nice fresh to the hobby example that comes directly from the personal collection of Terrence Murphy.
