This road black knit gamer by CCM was worn by Luc Robitaille during the 1989-90 NHL season. Robitaille will go down as one of the greatest lower round selections in the history of the NHL Entry Draft. He was a 9th round pick in the 1984 NHL Entry Draft by the LA Kings, where he played for 14 of his 19 NHL seasons.
Robitaille compiled incredible career statistics. He retired with 668 career goals, in excess of 725 assists and nearly 1400 points. The goal and point totals are good respectively for top 10 and top 20 all-time in the history of the sport. Luc played in 7 NHL All Star games and was voted a 1st or 2nd team NHL All Star 8 times. Also to his credit is the Calder Trophy for rookie of the year in 1987. Robitaille finally captured the trophy that had eluded him during his career, the Stanley Cup, which he won as a member of the Detroit Red Wings in 2001-02. With a 19-year career now in the books, Luc is the most prolific scoring Left Wing in the history of the NHL, and a most deserving Hall of Famer.
The game wear on this size 54 sweater is solid and consists of stick and slash marks, board burns, un-repaired burn holes, washed out bloodstains, a fight strap that has lost the battle to salt and rust and heavy inner pilling. Shown above is a beautiful photo match of Robitaille wearing this exact jersey during the 1989-90 season. A terrific early career photo matched example that Robitaille wore during a 50-goal and 100-point season!
