Description
1989-90 Jim Fox Los Angeles Kings Game Worn Jersey
Lot #73

This road black knit gamer by CCM was worn by Jim Fox during the 1989-90 NHL season. The Los Angeles Kings selected Fox with he 10th overall pick in the 1980 NHL Entry Draft. Fox began his career with the Kings in 1980-81 and there he remained throughout his entire 9 year NHL career. Fox remains in the top-10 on the Kings all-time scoring list with 478 points in 578 games. Fox is the highly recognized long time LA Kings television color commentator who sits alongside Bob Miller in the booth. He was inducted into the Southern California Sports Broadcasters Hall of Fame in 2016. Jim also played himself in the movie “Mystery, Alaska”.

The game wear on this size 50 sweater is solid and consists of stick and slash marks, board burns, board paint transfer, un-repaired burn holes, washed out bloodstains, stitch popping at the front collar and fine inner pilling. Also of significance is a number change from 19 to 4 that occurred when Fox agreed to give up his player number to the Kings newly acquired legend, future Hall of Famer Larry Robinson. A terrific example that was most likely Fox’s final NHL game worn jersey and should be greeted with enthusiasm by the Kings collectors.
