Description
1989-90 Edmonton Oilers Clarence Campbell Championship Trophy - Given to Public Relations Director Bill Tuele - Bill Tuele Letter
Lot #783

This 11 inch trophy was presented to Oilers Public Relations Director Bill Tuele for the Edmonton Oilers winning the 1989-90 Campbell Conference.  The Campbell bowl, starting in 1967-68, is awarded annually to players and staff of the Western Conference champions.

After a scare in the Smythe Division Semi-Finals, coming back from a 3-1 deficit against the Winnipeg Jets, the Oilers swept by the Los Angeles Kings and Wayne Gretzky 4-0.  They then captured the Campbell Conference with a 4 games to 2 series victory against the Chicago Blackhawks.  In the Stanley Cup Finals, the Oilers took down the Boston Bruins 4 games to 1 and captured their 5th Stanley Cup Championship in 7 seasons.

The top of the trophy is made of plated silver and the base is wood.  On one side of the trophy is engraved “Clarence Campbell Bowl 1968” and on the other “Bill Tuele Dir. of P.R. Edmonton Oilers 1989-90.  This trophy will be accompanied by a letter from Bill Tuele.
