1989-90 Craig MacTavish Oilers Game Worn Jersey
Lot #45

This home white air-knit gamer by CCM was worn by Craig MacTavish during the 1989-90 Stanley Cup winning season. The Oilers victory over the Boston Bruins marked their 5th Cup win in 7 seasons. For MacTavish, it was his 3rd Cup winning season in 4 years.

Craig finished his playing career with 4 Stanley Cups, adding another as a member of the 1994 New York Rangers. Craig partook in nearly 1100 regular season contests and nearly another 200 in the playoffs. This defensive specialist and penalty killing extraordinaire did notch better than 200 career goals and also played in the 1996 NHL All Star game. MacTavish will forever be the answer to the trivia question asking which NHL player was the last to not wear a helmet.

The game use on this sweater is strong consisting of many stick marks, board burns, board paint transfer, inner pilling and double digit team-sewn repairs. Sewn to the right shoulder is a blue rectangular air-knit patch, sitting atop where the 10-year Oilers anniversary patch once shone bright. The sleeves on this gamer have been custom shortened by the team. This is a fine example worn during the Oilers 5th and last Stanley Cup winning season of 1989-90.
