Description
1989-90 Alain Chevrier Pittsburgh Penguins Game Worn Jersey - "41st NHL All Star Game"
Lot #351
This road black knit gamer by CCM was worn by Alain Chevrier during the 1989-90 NHL season. After a couple of year at Miami (Ohio) University, Chevrier began his professional career. After a season in the IHL with the Fort Wayne Komets, Alain joined the New Jersey Devils and spent 3 seasons between the pipes in the Meadowlands as the young team emerged into a playoff team. In 1988-89 Chevrier joined the Winnipeg Jets and later that season was dealt to the Chicago Blackhawks. After parts of 2 years with the Hawks, Alain was dealt to the Pittsburgh Penguins at the trade deadline in the spring of 1990. He finished his career the following season with the Detroit Red Wings.

Offered here is Chevrier’s road sweater from his brief time with the Penguins. Sewn to the left shoulder of this gamer is the 41st annual NHL All Star game patch. That season’s All Star game was held at the Civic Arena in Pittsburgh, PA. The game wear on this sweater is light but obvious with stick and puck marks, goal post paint transfer, a salted fight strap and areas of pilling worthy of mention. A nice vintage All Star patched offering that should have goalie and Penguins collectors alike paying particular attention.
