Description
1989-90 Aaron Broten Minnesota North Stars Game Worn Jersey
Lot #53
This home white air-knit gamer by CCM was worn by Aaron Broten during the 1989-90 NHL season. The Colorado Rockies selected Broten in the 6th round of the 1980 NHL Entry Draft. Aaron is the younger brother of 1980 Olympic hero and North Stars legend Neal. After playing his award laden college hockey at the University of Minnesota, this Roseau, MN native began his NHL career with the Colorado Rockies in 1980-81. After 2 years in the Rockies, Aaron transferred with the franchise to New Jersey and became an original member of the Devils, where he played for parts of 8 seasons. A deal during the 1989-90 campaign sent him from New Jersey to join his brother in Minnesota. It was a short lived reunion, as Broten played a mere 35 regular season games and another 7 in the playoffs for his hometown squad. Broten finished up his career with stays in Quebec, Toronto and Winnipeg. In 748 NHL games played, this crafty winger scored a respectable 515 points.

The game wear on this sweater is solid and consists of stick and slash marks, board burns, board paint transfer, un-repaired burn holes and fine inner pilling. Also worthy of mention is some tape residue. A real tough one for North Stars collectors to find, as Aaron spent only half a season wearing Minnesota’s green and gold.
