1988-90 Andy Moog Boston Bruins 1990 Stanley Cup Finals Game Worn Jersey - William M. Jennings Trophy - Photo Match
Lot #24

This home white air-knit gamer by CCM was worn by Andy Moog during the 1988-89 and the 1989-90 NHL seasons, including the 1990 Stanley Cup Finals. The Edmonton Oilers selected Moog in the 7th round of the 1980 NHL Entry Draft. Moog made his NHL debut with Edmonton in 1980-81 and remained part of the dynasty club for 7 seasons during which time he won 3 Stanley Cups. He was traded to the Boston Bruins prior to the start of the 1987-88 season and went on to backstop his new club to the Stanley Cup Finals in 2 of the next 3 years, losing both times to his former teammates. Moog spent 6 years with the Bruins before becoming a member of the Dallas Stars during their inaugural season. Andy spent 4 seasons between the pipes in Dallas and wrapped up his 18-year NHL career with a final year in Montreal. When all was said and done, Moog had amassed 372 Wins and made 6 trips to the Stanley Cup Finals, winning 3 Stanley Cup rings. Moog was a 4-time NHL All Star, led the NHL in shutouts in 3 different seasons and was the recipient of the 1989-90 William M. Jennings Trophy.

Sewn to the right breast of this gamer is the 1990 Stanley Cup Finals patch. This jersey has been custom shortened in the hem and both sleeves by the team for Moog who stood at 5’ 9”. The game wear on this size 54 sweater is solid and consists of stick and puck marks, plenty of goal post and crossbar paint transfer, inner pilling and a team-sewn repair. Shown above is a beautiful photo match of Moog wearing this exact jersey during the 1990 Stanley Cup Finals. Embroidered to the back hem is the small CCM logo as worn by Boston in 1988-89. Sewn alongside is a rectangular air-knit material patch with a gold lettered Custom Crafted, a style worn by the Bruins during the 1990 Finals. Beneath this is the original black lettered Custom Crafted logo, the style worn by Boston during the 1988-89 season, when Andy began wearing this sweater. Moog wore this heavily customized jersey over the course of two seasons and it is photo matched to the 1990 Stanley Cup Finals, choice!
