Description
1988-89 Tom Laidlaw Kings Game Worn Jersey
Lot #63

This home white air-knit gamer by CCM was worn by Tom Laidlaw during the 1988-89 NHL season. Laidlaw broke into the NHL with the Rangers in 1980. He remained a fixture on their blueline until a deal sent him to LA at the deadline during the 1986-87 season. Tom would spend the next 3 years in Los Angeles before retiring from the NHL after partaking in better than 700 career games.

Offered here is a fine looking example from Tom’s first full season in LA, as well as the Kings first ever season toting the silver and black colors. Sewn to the left breast is a Velcro patch that was used to house an alternate Captain’s “A”. Despite their finest dry-cleaning efforts, the game wear could not be completely removed from this sweater. There remain stick marks, board burns, board paint transfer, un-repaired burn holes, fine inner pilling and several team-sewn repairs. A well worn example that was worn alongside the Great One, who was also in his first season in Los Angeles.
