This road blue air-knit gamer by CCM was worn by Sergio Momesso during the 1988-89 NHL season. The Montreal Canadiens selected Momessso in the 2nd round of the 1983 NHL Entry Draft. Momessso made his NHL debut with Les Habitants in 1983-84 where he remained for 4 seasons and captured his only Stanley Cup Ring for his efforts in 1986 before joining the St. Louis Blues in 1988-89. Sergio played several years for St. Louis and then in Vancouver where he trekked to Game 7 of the Finals in 1994, falling to the Rangers. Sergio completed his 13-year NHL career with stops in Toronto, New York and St. Louis. Momesso’s single season best of 200 PIMS came in 1992-93 with the Canucks. He ended his regular season career with 1557 PIMS in 710 games played. His post-season totals are even more impressive with 311 PIMS in 119 playoff games.
Sewn to the left shoulder of this gamer is the Barclay Plager “8” patch to commemorate the passing of the St. Louis Blues legend. Sewn to the right shoulder is the Dan Kelly “DK” patch to commemorate the passing of the legendary broadcaster. The game wear on this sweater is solid and consists of stick and slash marks, board burns, board paint transfer, un-repaired burn holes, fine inner pilling and a crudely stitched team-sewn repair on the right elbow. A well-worn double patched offering dating to this tough guy’s first year in St. Louis.
