This road blue mesh gamer by CCM and Cosby was worn by Rudy Poeschek during the 1988-89 NHL season, his rookie year. The New York Rangers selected Poeschek in the 12th round of the 1985 NHL Entry Draft. He spent 3 years with the Rangers before an NHL journey that took him to Winnipeg, Tampa Bay and St. Louis. All told this defenseman spent 12 seasons on the NHL ice. During that time, Poeschek racked up 817 PIMs in 364 games played. Rudy’s career high came in 1988-89 as a rookie, while wearing this sweater, as he totaled 199 PIMS in 52 games.
The game wear on this rookie sweater is solid and consists of stick and slash marks, board burns, board paint transfer, fine inner pilling and a couple of team-sewn repairs. Also worthy of mention are a number of stitch pops around the collar as well as a double fight strap including the old-style skate lace variety with coin still attached and the Cosby label being covered on the rear hem.
