Lot #200

GAMEWORNAUCTIONS.NET is pleased to bring this exciting collection of game worn enforcers, tough guys and instigators to the hobby exclusively thru our Spring 2019 Auction. Many of these 10 NHL, WHA and minor league game worn jerseys have been held in a private collection since being purchased beginning nearly 20 years ago and have been out of hobby circulation ever since. Included in this group of legendary tough guys and scrappers are some extremely difficult to find players and styles, most which are being offered at auction for the first time!

This home white air-knit gamer by CCM was worn by Rob Dimaio during the 1988-89 NHL season, his rookie season. The New York Islanders selected Dimaio in the 6th round of the 1987 NHL Entry Draft. Dimaio made his NHL debut in 1988-89 with the Islanders where he played for four years. This feisty winger spent a total of 17 years in the NHL representing the Islanders, Tampa Bay, Philadelphia, Boston, the Rangers, Carolina and Dallas.

The game wear on this size 54 sweater consists of stick and slash marks, board burns, board paint transfer, un-repaired burn holes and trauma, material pulls and fine inner pilling. The Syosset Sports logo has been removed from the back hem while fight abuse is evident at the upper corner of the nameplate. Dimaio appeared in 16 games as a rookie and accumulated 30 PIMS while wearing this sweater in front of the hometown fans at Nassau Coliseum on Long Island.
