Description
1988-89 Rob Brown Penguins Game Worn Jersey
Lot #145

This road black knit gamer by CCM and Century Sports was worn by Rob Brown during his 2nd season, which saw him net 49 goals and 115 points in a mere 68 games. This gifted player came onto the scene with a bang after being a 4th round draft selection by Pittsburgh in 1986. It looked as though Mario would have a long term talented sidekick but it wasn’t to be. The Penguins traded their sniper to Hartford after only 3 ½ seasons, and Rob’s career was never the same. During his original stay in Pittsburgh, this youngster played 224 games scoring a resounding 112 goals and 255 points and was an NHL All Star.

This sweater was worn during Brown’s finest season, and one of the best statistically in Penguins team history. Game wear is solid consisting of numerous stick marks and board burns, plenty of board paint transfer, un-repaired burn holes and fine inner pilling. There are a few minor chips out of Rob’s player number on the reverse. Important piece of Penguins history that was worn alongside Mario Lemiuex as he assaulted the scorebooks putting up career best numbers of 85 goals and 199 points.
