1988-89 Randy Smith Kalamazoo Wings Game Worn Jersey – “15-year Anniversary”
Lot #295

We attribute this road green air-knit gamer by CCM and BJ Sports as having been worn by Randy Smith while skating for the Kalamazoo Wings during the 1988-89 IHL season. Smith played briefly in the NHL for the Minnesota North Stars, receiving call-ups in both 1985-86 and 1986-87. Smith also represented the Canadian National Team for a couple of years and represented Team Canada in the 1992 Olympics. He otherwise spent time in the AHL, IHL and played for 8 seasons in Europe.

Proudly sewn to the left breast of this gamer is the Captain’s “C”. Sewn to the right breast is the Kalamazoo Wings 15-year anniversary patch. The game wear on this sweater consists of stick and slash marks, board burns, board paint transfer, un-repaired burn holes, fine inner pilling and fight abuse including a popped and un-repaired front collar, stitch pops and a torn and subsequently repaired rear collar right down to the shoulder seam. With players such as Kevin Evans, Link Gaetz, Neil Wilkinson and Mark Tinordi on the roster, the Wings battled their way to a winning record and their 14th consecutive trip to the post season. A nice minor league anniversary patched Captain’s jersey.
