Description
1988-89 Peter Ihnacak Toronto Maple Leafs Game Worn Jersey
Lot #64
This home white knit gamer by CCM was worn by Peter Ihnacak during the 1988-89 NHL season. The Toronto Maple Leafs selected Ihnacak in the 2nd round of the 1982 NHL Entry Draft. Prior to coming to the NHL, Ihnacak played in his native Czech Republic for 6 seasons and helped them to a Silver Medal in the 1982 World Championships. Peter then began his NHL career in 1982-83 with the Leafs and spent his entire 8-year NHL career with the club. Ihnacak then left the NHL and went to Europe where he played for the next 7 years. After retiring, Peter became the Head Coach of the Nuremburg Ice Tigers for 3 years and then he took over as the Head Coach of the Hannover Scorpions for a season.

Sewn into the collar of this gamer is the born on tag that reads 86 – 07. A custom fight strap can be found sewn to the inside back player numbers. The game wear on this sweater is solid and consists of stick and slash marks, board burns, board paint transfer, un-repaired burn holes, heavy inner pilling and several team-sewn repairs including some additional stitching to the customized fight strap additions. A nice vintage Leafs gamer that is now 25-years removed from the ice.
