1988-89 Mike Ramsey Sabres Game Worn Jersey
Lot #22

This home white knit gamer by CCM was worn by 1980 USA Olympic gold medal winner, Mike Ramsey, during the 1988-89 NHL season. Ramsay enjoyed an 18-year NHL career that spanned 1070 regular season games and included 4 NHL All Star game appearances in a 5-year period from 1982-1986. He also partook in Rendezvous ‘87, representing Team NHL against the Russians. In addition to the 1980 Olympics, Ramsay played 56 games for the US National team in 1980 and also represented Team USA during the 1981 and 1987 Canada Cups. Ramsey was the 11th overall selection by the Buffalo Sabres in the 1979 NHL entry draft and paid big dividends spending his first 14 seasons wearing the blue and gold.

Sewn to the left breast of this fantastic jersey is the alternate Captain’s “A”. The game use is tremendous consisting of hundreds of stick marks, board burns, loads of board paint transfer, washed out bloodstains, inner pilling, un-repaired burn holes and a couple dozen team-sewn repairs. This hammered example is sure to please and is ready to proudly represent any 1980 USA Olympic collection.
