1988-89 Marc Bureau Salt Lake City Golden Eagles Game Worn Jersey
Lot #247

This road red knit gamer by CCM was worn by Marc Bureau during the 1988-89 IHL season. Bureau spent three seasons playing for the IHL’s Salt Lake Golden Eagles before beginning his NHL career with the Calgary Flames in 1989-90. Following brief stints with Calgary and Minnesota, where he played in the 1991 Stanley Cup Finals, Bureau became an inaugural member of the Tampa Bay Lightning and played with the club for 3 seasons before joining the Montreal Canadiens in 1995-96. After three years with the Habs, Marc spent two seasons with Philadelphia and returned briefly to Calgary where he played his final 9 NHL games. All told this center spent 11 years in the NHL.

The game wear on this size 50 sweater is solid and consists of stick and slash marks, board burns, board paint transfer, un-repaired burn holes, a fight strap that has lost the battle to salt and rust, a stitch popped front collar, inner pilling and a dozen team-sewn repairs. Removed from the upper verso and lost to history is the nameplate. Bureau put forth a terrific season while wearing this sweater in 1988-89. He struck for 28 goals and added 36 assists for 64 points to go along with 119 PIMS. A terrific well-worn minor league offering of this 11-year NHL veteran.
