1988-89 Luc Robitaille Kings Game Worn Jersey
Lot #22

This home white knit gamer by CCM was worn by Luc Robitaille during the 1988-89 NHL season. Robiataille will go down as one of the greatest lower round selections in the history of the NHL entry draft. He was a 9th round pick in the 1984 NHL entry draft by the LA Kings where he played for 14 of his 19 NHL seasons. Robitaille compiled incredible career statistics. He retired with 668 career goals, in excess of 725 assists and nearly 1400 points. The goal and point totals are good respectively for top 10 and top 20 all-time in the history of the sport.

Luc played in 7 NHL All Star games and was voted a 1st or 2nd team NHL All Star 7 times. Also to his credit is the Calder Trophy for rookie of the year in 1987. Robitaille finally captured the Stanley Cup as a member of the Red Wings in 2001-02. With a 19-year career now in the books, Luc is the most prolific scoring Left Wing in the history of the NHL and is a sure-fire 1st ballot Hall of Famer.

This gamer was worn in Robitaille’s 3rd NHL season. 1988-89 was a good year for the Montreal native. He scored 46 goals and 52 assists for a total of 98 points, earning him a 1st team NHL All Star selection and a spot in the NHL All Star game. The game use on this CCM knit consists of stick marks, board burns, board paint transfer, inner pilling, washed out bloodstains and a team-sewn repair on the right sleeve. Early Robitaille gamers are always in strong demand in the hobby. Astute Hall of Fame and 500-goal collectors regularly make examples like these disappear.
