Description
1988-89 Jim Sandlak Canucks Game Worn Jersey - "BABE"
Lot #36

This road black knit gamer by CCM was worn by Jim Sandlak during the 1988-89 NHL season. Sandlak was the 4th overall selection by Vancouver in the 1985 NHL entry draft. He would spend 9 of his 11 seasons representing the Canucks in the Pacific North West. Jim was a 20-goal scoring winger who played with an edge as evidenced by his numerous 100+ PIM seasons and better than 800 PIMS for his career.

Sewn to the right breast of this gamer is the “Babe” patch to commemorate the death of Hall of Famer Babe Pratt who spent many years working for and around the Canucks franchise. The game wear on this sweater is solid just as you would expect to find on a Sandlak gamer. There are numerous stick marks and board burns, board paint transfer, un-repaired burn holes, pilling and a couple of handfuls of team-sewn repairs. The Canucks donned the Babe patches for a mere half a season following Babe Pratt’s untimely death in December, leaving these two plus decade old gems in high demand amongst collectors.
